yes, if only i could figure out how to print it full size

I scaled it up using GIMP until the black line was measuring about 51mm.

Might be worth double checking another measurement though.

I tried posting the resulting JPEG but the forum must scale it down again.

Once you get it scaled up.............select it with the "snapshot" tool and select print. In print options, select "landscape", "poster". It will tile the pic into pages that can be taped together :)

Use the icon fourth down on the left column to scale things bigger or smaller. Looks like a small square in the corner of a big one with an arrow. and the one above it that looks like a compass to click on a point and drag it to measure between two points.

At the bottom of the window where you can choose weather your image is 100% or not on screen you can select inches, MM or Pixels for your measurements. Beside that it'll show you the distance you measure with the compass.

Use the scale tool to make things bigger and then check it with the measuring tool until you have it right. Not forgetting to click on the wee chain bit in the scale dialogue box to keep the height and width ratio.

thats probably clear as mud

That I can't help with, I'm on Linux and it's probably different.

But I'm pretty sure somewhere on the forum someone has explained it in great detail. Maybe in the terry Downs template thread.
