The song is a multi-track cover on which I played and sang all of the instrumental and vocal parts, with the exception of the piano part, which was recorded by special guest, Thomas Valles. We tried to sound as close to the original recording as possible.
"Pretty Ballerina" was the followup hit to the Left Banke's popular "Walk Away Renee" hit single. Both songs were written by band pianist Michael Brown, who was enchanted and inspired by the guitarist's girlfriend, Renee Fladen. The song was one of the first pop songs to use the Lydian mode in its melody.
