Those of you who are more experienced with it... once they have sold all 1800 boxes, is it random from that point on? Or do early birds get the best worms? Just curious.

PG claims the boxes are pre-sorted and contents are randomly dispersed. As orders are filled, the recipient gets a randomly selected box. If that’s true (I have no reason to think it isn’t), then everyone who gets in has an equal shot at a bigger ticket item.

Also, the pre-sorting ensures no one gets more than one big ticket item. The general experience from reading online reports two years ago was:

1). Most got bleh - stickers, picks, etc
2). Maybe half get medium content - books, straps, tuners, strings, accessories
3). A few hundred or less get high-end content - pedals primarily
4). About 10 people get grand-prize content: guitars

It’s basically a lottery at $40 a ticket. But it’s fun. The trick is don’t expect much and just have fun. If you get a bigger prize, bonus!

I'm on a roll for winning stuff so I'm gonna go buy a lottery ticket too!

I got one this year. The form was so slow I didn't think I was going to get one. The last two years I didn't get anything. I got one for two years in a row very early on, but got a bunch of stuff I didn't want or need. When I looked up the prices of all of the stuff in the box it was higher than the cost of the box, it just was a bunch of stuff I didn't want. I sold stuff, leather strap, strap locks, to get some of my money back and I kept the the guitar cables, strings, speaker cable, picks.

Like @gonzaleg165 said it is a $40 lottery ticket. I'm expecting to win the Fano guitar this year!

    1800 boxes, I'm guessing, I think there are 10 guitars, 180 pedals

I was lucky and picked up one this year!
I second the $40 lottery ticket deal I've been able to pickup one three years in a row now the first year was the usual picks funky color guitar strap and stickers. Last year was a little better got a quality instrument lead an ok fender headstock tuner and a boss tuner (not a pedal one) stickers picks and a comic book so really cant bash on it I mean hell its easy to spend $40 on coffee a week so why not take a shot. Ill let y'all know what i get in this one. Will be interesting to see what everyone gets good luck to all that got in on it!!

I managed to get one for the third year in a row. I’m hoping for something more than strings, picks, stickers, and a guitar strap this year!

I also received a notice that my parcel was shipped... first class mail, which suggests it’s *not* a guitar :(
