I had a rule " never handle my animals if I had been drinking , they can tell
reptiles have what i call their religion

    1) if its smaller than me ..... eat it
    2) ifi ts the same size as me ......breed with it
    3) if its bigger than me......run like hell

I have owned , tegus, savanah monitors, nile monitors and have handled 12 foot boas, and even performed surgery on large pythons , these are just animals that exsist in the same time period as us , that is all , what i dont get is people who get a large animal like a snake then decide to have a baby in the house , should that animal escape ..........
but that is just negligence , I dont have respect for people who are not trained in herpetology and insist on having a crocodilian as a pet , these are primative animals that follow their instincts and are not to blame when accidents occur. I have known people who have kept captive rattle snakes, now venomous animals of any kind is silly

these animals will learn who their keepers are , by scent or sound , by routine , but a camen cannot be kept in a bath tub and the average home is not equipt to accomodate such an animal. there are laws in place to specificly address the keeping of danderous or venomous animals , for instance a rattle snake enclosure must have 2 levels of security to house these animals . Teggi was captive bred so handling him was with out any issues and he responded very well to me , Calyx was young hence the dimorphism and was not handled she retained her instinctive traits .

    "LIZARD PORN" BOO!
good for you, I've already seen to many videos/films about Kimono Dragoons and the similarity is just to close for comfort, though one is not the same as the other, I know, it's irrational , I'm sticking with Kittens.

I have a hard time viewing the lizard cushion guy and the videographer lady as experienced, trained herpetologists. Come on, Big Boy (lifts lizard, shakes hands with it, slaps its belly playfully)...

The guy’s wife seems on board with the whole thing, which will be good if it ever gets tired of him jacking with it like it’s a golden retriever and it bites his face three times in .0037 seconds.

Cool lizard, but I’d feel better seeing it from a Land Rover or something, and letting it get back to whatever it was doing (stalking Dave and his wife, maybe).

    Nope!!!
    However,
When I was at LSU we kept a half dozen baby alligators in a big fish tank for a week or so.
Wound up releasing them back into the swamp.
You absolutely would not believe how much noise they made at night.

when I was younger I wanted to study these animals as really there is nothing known about them, the only comprhensive series of books I found was at the University of B.C. library called "The Biology of the reptilia", a 27 volume set of scientific studies on reptiles but the information was so incomplete , which lead me to believe that the majority of the fear of these animals was the general lack of knowledge about them , Science in this field has exploded in leaps and bounds , but general ignorance in this field is still prevalent.

I learned that "cold blooded " the term is a missnomer the correct term is "Ectothermic" general knowledge is that all reptiles are ectothermic (dependant on their environment for body heat regulation) this is not entirely correct .....a Python will wrap itsself around a clutch of eggs and physically raise its body temperature by several degrees , and that a python has a pelvic girdle and 2 reminent cloacal spurs used in breeding , now the question is , are these the reminets of evolving legs or are these the receeding of of legs , scientists dont know yet.

after the Yucatan meteor incident no fossill records occur for some 10,000,000 years the first fossils found were that of the titanoboa a 40 foot boa found in northern Colombia

    Titanoboa fossil
    Featured snippet from the web
Fossils of Titanoboa cerrjonensis were found in a coal mine in northern Colombia in tropical South America. The age of the rocks that they were found in is about 58 million years old and what was really exciting about the coal mine initially was that it preserved the ancient remnants of a rainforest.Nov 9, 2016

this is why i love this stuff

yeah but he was complete twit

    4 things
    1) the grizzly was late for dinner ( not good) missed the salmon run and close to hibrination time
    2) he stayed to obsrve , and tried to film as things came down bad
    3) he had no weapons to defend himself
    4) his girlfriend was on her cycle ( really ,Really ,Really Bad Idea )

on average grizzlies eat meat every 30 days ,unless they have timmed the salmon run explicitly

no there was some nimrod that went up to alaska to be with the grizzlies , this nut used to sleep with a teddy bear , any way he went up to a fishing location where the bears used to fish the rivers looking for salmon during the run, this time he took his girlfriend and she was on her cycle , when a bear arrived after the run , the bear was thin and was desparate diving to the bottom of the river to catch dead spawned salmon , but was not able to fatten up before hibrination, and one night took advantage of the local food source, the guy and his girl friend , and while he was being attacked he tried to video the expirience , he had it in record but did not get the lenscap off the camera in time so he recorded the whole audio , 5 days later when they came to pick them up from this location the pilot saw the bear still hanging around so he called for back up . it was called "the grizzly man " I watched it and the whole time i could not fathom how idiotic this guy was.

watch at your own risk ,

Big boy died in 2014 at 15, and the guy is still alive, though i don't think you can see his face in his videos. So maybe the lizard did disfigur him. ( is that english ?)

Watching the guy's channel, he is probably trained, since all his videos are about reptiles. And he has got a lot.

I have posted this before, but i love chiquita ! Makes me feel lucky to live in a place where no animals can maul you. We might still have a few bears and wolves though.

It sounds more like suicide by grizzly bear really. What kind of guy films something while he is being attacked by a bear ?

Edit i watched the beginning, and just by listening to what this guy had to say, i knew there was something wrong with him.
