I picked a cover version of 'Theme from a Summer Place' - Phil McGarrick. It contains 1 & 2 string slides, hammer on , pull of, vibrato arm. Thought this would be a good song for the learning different playing techniques. Not done any practice since October. Not enough strength to lift guitar. - terminal cancer. Some of my strength has returned. I found a cover version that was close to the instrumental version - Lennon Sisters. Not sure if this
would be helpful. It seemed good idea at the time. I can play the song from beginning to
end - badly. I'm going round in circle, going no where. Advice please on how to continue.
    Many thanks

Break the song up into learnable bits. Practice one-bit-at-a-time s l o w l y. Increase speed only after you master each bit.

    I do it like this:

    Get it in my head
    Get it under my fingers
    Get it up to tempo
    Get it pretty

If you can play through it that’s the first two, just keep going. Some things are easy, some take a long time.

    Good luck with everything.

I hope you are on the mend.

    Do you love the song?

If not, learn songs you live instead.

They in your head. They will get under your fingers easier. And they all have something good in them.

@aeyeq offered some good advise. Repetition is the key, that and just to keep forging ahead.
