Been using the fender PV's in my partscasters. But I get several & measure them, don't use less than 250K with hotter pickups unless your amp is bright.

I do wear them out, lots of dynamics/volume changes playing with the band.

Easy to order from Sweetwater.

For 500K I use TAOT, the Art of Tone, branded custom 525K CTSs with the 5% tolerance. They're always measured correctly.

The last pair of Fender 250Ks I ordered measured 185K and 200K. They're in a landfill.

Whatever I can find on Digikey or Mouser in the values I want. Don’t remember which brand has the whole loose turning feel thing going on, but I’ve got one in a guitar and - while it’s definitely different - I got used to it fast and I don’t even notice it when switching between guitars anymore. So yeah, I use whichever I can find for a deal from the parts suppliers.

Oh and Fender TBX when I need that.

CTS 250K for single coils, 500K for humbuckers. Usually try to get them as close to spec as possible, somewhat matched if in a multi-volume/tone configuration.

Whatever was in there when I bought the guitar.

Best not to open anything up, and risk all the mojo getting out.

For a run-of-the-mill contemporary guitar or amp? Whatever full-sized, suitable and proper I can find, be it Alpha, Burny, ALPS, CTS, Stackpole, whatever. Anything non-craptastic will do, since I'm a pot agnostic.

Mostly CTS branded for guitars. May use different shaft lengths and tapers depending on the instrument they're planned for. Then got handful of Alphas in the drawer, for Fuzzes and pedals I've yet not made.
