I'll start. I'm in my work vehicle at a key location for a movie I've seen more times than any other. There was a semi trailer involved in the movie scene/location. I know there are people here who will pick it straight away IMG_20201201_173108_copy_2816x2112.jpg

    Guess away.
Post your iconic movie scene happy snaps!

Just up the road in Astoria. Besides the obvious Goonies sites, there are sites from Free Willy, Kindergarten Cop, The Ring 2, and a host of other film locations from other flicks that never made headlines (or decent box office revenue).

Is it the scene where Thelma and Louise blow up the tanker truck?

Not sure I've ever been to an iconic movie site.

I'm not really familiar with the films, but that site screams "Mad Max" to me.

I think I lost all my pictures of the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa. It’s nothing I would travel a long way to see, but I was up there visiting some friends and was about an hour and a half from there. So we went and brought a bat, ball, and gloves and had a good time.

I’ve played, and live near Gruene Hall, in the hamlet of Gruene, Tx.
The dancehall scene in the Travolta movie Michael were filmed there.
The late Stephen Bruton has a cameo in the movie, as a guitar player/band leader.
I played there with Erik Hokkannen, who played some of the incidental music in the movie.
    Alas, I have no pics.

There are a lot of them around here in the Atlanta metro exurbs.

In my commute to to old job I drove past the park and wooded areas used from time to time for Stranger Things, The Originals, Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries, Sleepy Hollow and many other productions. It was particularly annoying when they blocked roads for scenes and I had to take the long way around.

The small town I live near has been used for several movies as well, especially the old courthouse area. Most notable are Hidden Figures and American Reunion.

About a half mile from my house is where the gas station arrest scene from Prisoners was filmed. And, yes, traffic was blocked going to my house that day. (As you may guess, I'm not a big fan of the film industry in GA)

Was that where ZZ Top filmed a show?

    Yes.
I think (not sure) it’s the oldest dance hall in Texas.
There are still quite a few old dance halls here.
Gruene Hall is a great sounding place.
    Lots of wood.
It is still not air conditioned, so it’s hot it the summer.
It has two stages, one small, one bigger.
    Anyways, it’s a cool place.

When I make my pilgrimage to the States to visit all the iconic music venues, I'll add it to my list!

When we watch the first Avengers movie, we try to place where in Cleveland a lot of those scenes were shot. We recognize quite a few.

I know it’s not a movie (well they did make a couple of movies based on the books), but I’ve read all of the James Lee Burke ‘Dave Robicheaux’ novels. One morning I rode my Harley 3 hours and ate at Victor’s Cafeteria in New Iberia, Louisiana. That’s where Dave eats in the books when he’s in town.

The final scenes of The Shawshank Redemption were shot on St Croix’s west end at Sandy Point
I got to meet Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, & Morgan Freeman.
I almost had Sarandon talked into a Discover Scuba class but she finally backed out. Tim couldn’t because of a rider in the insurance policy forbidding certain dangerous activities while filming
