Pterosaurs hunting season in Tennessee is from Sept 31st to Nov 31st .
One needs to get pretty high up in the mountains to see one .

An obvious ploy by certain grudge-holding members of the local theropod lobby.

All these pictures from the nineteenth century of guys and the pterodactyls they killed makes me think the south lost the war because they were fighting dinosaurs instead of Yankees.

Pterosaurs were not dinosaurs, but regardless, it's a well-established fact that the North won due in part to the greater availability/better use of resources such as natural resources, railroads, telegraphs and dinosaurs.

I'm just glad someone was able to document this real-life incident for posterity. And they used 35mm film and scored it for good measure!

Civi War era Photoshop was still impressive, even in the beta stage.

It was not without precedent, and actually became part of a long, proud presidential tradition.

I don't know about pterosaur poop from the sky, but brachiosaur vomit from on high could kill you. Somebody did the math:

Was this brought on because of the new Jurassic-Whatever movie?

They made another one of those! Another one!! This one has the deadliest and most dangerous dinosaur ever. Jeff Goldblum will fidget and run around in circles a lot. Tea Leoni isn't even in this one. Boooo! Booooh!

FYI: Those civil war pics were for a science fiction tv series.

Natural resources, railroads and telegraphs sure, but it's clear from the rare archival film footage below that Union dinosaurs were no match for Confederate pterosaurs.

A common misconception; while the nature of the flying creature is debatable, the biped is most assuredly not a dinosaur, but rather some form of mutated creature. In any case, neither of these creatures was present during any engagement of the Civil War. This footage is from the Russo-Japanese War of 1904 - 1905.

The United States, however, would later seem to come to use a similar, albeit updated model in certain clandestine (and somewhat controversial) early-21st century engagements.

and, when they die, their bladder releases - most folks don't notice, because "the pee is silent..."

    I'll show myself out. . .
