thats the best line...doesnt EC lock his down and NEVER use them? Hilarious.
Putting the Fake, Genuine designation aside the guitar is a pretty nice looking guitar, but not £1,200 worth of nice of course.
It "COULD" be one of the best sounding Tele's ever built but because it is branded genuine and isn't the majority of people wouldn't want it (at any price) just because it isn't as described.
Some of the views y'all posted interest me so just for kicks: Real or Fake Neck?
Offer the guy $125. Tell him that's the most you can do for such a janky POS.
I'll play seeing how nobody else is!
Could be wrong, but it reminds me of a MiM blacktop headstock with new string tree and tuners...
I'm still learning so no shame in being wrong
One thing that doesn't look quite right though is the cut underneath 'Telecaster', looks deep but might be the photo.
Tell me the bad news
Agreed; evidently somebody is not good enough to fake a Gibson.
What do you call that color... brown?
This is on ebay, have reported and sent a message to the guy but it's still there and no response from the seller.
Fake CS Tele
The first tip off is the lack of a photo of the Custom Shop logo and the second is just about everything else. I've never seen a Fender CS guitar that looked that bad especially not a Masterbuilt model which would ordinarily run far more than £2500. The team built models sell for that much and more and the Masterbuilts are above that.
He's 2 hours from me , might go and arrange a viewing... douse it in lighter fluid, drop a match on it and walk off.
Seems that the listing has now ended...
Oh that's just horrible. Not even a good fake.
I worry sometimes that we provide a tutorial to crooks as to how to refine their faked wares.
But this one is so incredibly inept, I have no qualms about saying, there isn't a single valid thing about this piece of junk.
Janky, you say? We'll put an image of this "thing" next the word janky in the illustrated dictionary. Everyone should catch on at once.
I'd like to expand the meaning of this word. To the person that assembled this atrocity. He's "janky" as well!
I received a reply from the guy who seems to have been duped by someone. He didn't seem to know that this wasn't genuine as the guy he acquired it from seemed to be in the know. Seems like a nice guy anyway.
That's real, probably a Blacktop or Modern Player.
I once contacted a craigslist seller and told him that the Les Paul he was selling was a fake.
He said thanks for telling me, and how did you know?
I didn't respond, because I suspected he was fishing for how I could tell - so he wouldn't repeat the mistake.
Plastic nut too. Probably a low end squire neck.
The body is blatantly the wrong shape.
That's because I bought it. I'm so excited for my first custom shop Tele. I'll post lots of pics when I do my NGD post.
