Yep, I heard that as well, and the fact that social media didn’t exist then suggests it could well have been true!

It isn’t / wasn’t. Singer sewing machines originated in the US.

Me too, that’s one of the early ones, later they changed to the ‘real’ colour of silver. I remember they were impossible to get hold of. Luckily, as an avid collector of all things Corgi and Dinky, my local newsagent who sold them, put one aside for me, knowing I’d be in. What it would be worth now, boxed in mint condition..................

To me, a model of a model missed the point!

We've never met John, but I am 100% sure we'd get along very well.

What a difference six years make... I just enjoyed it for what it was without getting into the metaphysics of it all.

You know, you’re right, it was a toy modeled on what, to a kid, was a ‘real’ TV show. The innocence of childhood, simple things making us happy, soon fades. But then, after the teenage angst and go getter years, when we’ve been around the block a few times, we once again value the simple stuff. Then, in our twilight years we may continue to head back towards a childhood state of mind, not always for the best, and once again become dependent on others. Life is, well, as complicated as you make it. I am, I suspect, over cooking this.

I have an old Matchbox Ferrari Berlinetta that I'd love to at least put new windows and tires on.
