Well Fender and I are celebrating our 75th this year
As Indiana Jones said ‘It’s not the years, it’s the mileage’
Oh man, that's like the third strike, you're out I'm telling the mods
I used to say "thirty nine ninety five plus tax", kinda like a take-off on the old Jack Benny retort when he was clearly well over 40.
These days it's "fifty nine ninety five plus tax".
The day I entered "retirement" (I'm 64) and didn't have to work a job, my first thought was:
"Now I can get back to what I was doing at seventeen!"
Which mostly means indulging my fascination with guitars.
That's what I said at your age. Now I have three teles.
One of my workmates is also 53 today
60 years old. I mentally feel the same as ever but I'd be lying if I said my body doesn't feel kind of beat up, mostly because of dumb things I did in my "indestructible" late teens and 20's. Music is as much fun as ever.
Getting old is new to me.
Man, we are old here! (I'm 62)
But it's to be expected on a ' Tele' Forum- we are the generation that grew up during the birth and growth of R&R, Classic Country, and Blues/ R&B... ( a few generations now...)
And I feel like we are not just watching from the outside, but really participating ( in real time, in different ways, maybe) in how this 'thing'- Rock & Roll, guitar playing all plays out over time.
Hope we can keep good music and good guitar alive!
If sixty is the new forty and forty is the new twenty, then twenty is the new one year old? WHAT IS THE NEW ONE YEAR OLD? MINUS TWENTY??? Doctor: "Mrs. Jones, we're going to have to induce labor... for twenty years."
Old enough to know that the Grateful Dead is the worst band of all time.
I'll be 65 in a few months. Just applied for Medicare. Still busy playing music and teaching music lessons with 35 students +
I got lumped in with the ooooold 69 year olds just because I’m 61?
I demand a Re-poll!
Since I’m closer to 59 than 69 can I just lie about my age and select the next category?
Yeah I act 15, look 45, and feel 85.
I voted 60-69, but I identify as a socially awkward 15 year old.
Perhaps you'll get lucky and someone will give you a Tele tommorow
It’s new to all of us….
I was just saying to my boss that some decades ago people pretty much stopped surprising me.
Yet in the past couple of years I’m back to being surprised by people.
Does that mean I’m getting younger?
According to the poll, boomers rule the TDPRI?
I like this age, overall. My 50’s have been better than my 30’s or 40’s, thus far.
I’m finally old enough to match my tastes and personality. I look my age, but not older. My wife turns 50 next month, but regularly gets mistaken for late 30s/early 40s…so I’m blessed there, too.
