I’m already picturing this thing in my hands. I’m imagining the feel of it, the smell of it, dayum. Christmas? First Bass? Man I love me some colors.
    What say you?

I'd pass, but you do you Amigo. That's a whole lot of one color for sure.

At least it's not the Radium Burn green one.

Sorry to be a killjoy, oh wait a minute, OK, nevermind, I’m a killjoy.
    That’s almost Antigua-level hideous.
    It’s heinously hideous.
    It’s hilariously hideous.
I suppose now you’ll order the green one, too.

I don't know, I wouldn't want a regular guitar like that but a bass? It tickles my fancy.

I've taught some bass lessons on one of the green ones. It was one of the worst basses I've played in recent memory. Those Sterling basses by Ernie Ball aren't that much more expensive and are way better, IME. Unless you are looking to compliment that green Dean Electric you've got, I'd pass. You can get a used MiM P-Bass for not much more than that, too.

Thing is, that green Dean is one of the most easily playable of all my guitars. I’m going to change the pickups because they’re just too metally, but the neck is great. I have zero fret buzz and very low action. One of my favorite to play, though, again, I’m not real fond of the pickups.

That's got to be about the ugliest guitar I have ever seen, but if you like it, you rock it. You don't have an all-day-glow pink bass, and it's been almost two weeks since you bought the bright blue epiphone, so you definitely need that....

You’ve been snarky since your waffle iron fiasco. But, you make good points.

Are ya gonna get a chance to play the exact guitar first, or is this an online thing? Maybe I've played a lemon...it had been sitting on the wall for a looonnngg time. The frets were really rough, the action was really high and I didn't like the non-wood feel of a fretboard covered with inlays and green paint. Didn't love the black hardware and seem to recall the pots taking a bit more force to turn than the ones I am used to.

I say it rocks but you gotta get a mullet for the full effect.

I was born snarky, man! I don't mean to be an azz, you should do what you want and not sweat internet opinions. But if you're asking, I truly think at your early-ish stage of learning guitar you would be far better served spending the dough on lessons, finding guys to jam with, and getting down to a couple of your favorite guitars and having them fine tuned by a very good tech. There is no real reason to own a million inexpensive instruments, it's just a huge time suck that takes away from playing (as does posting here, so I'm as guilty as anybody). But I probably said that before.

I don’t sweat em. That’s why I throw crazy stuff like this out there. I’m a collector, as well as a developing player. Collectors don’t necessarily want “vintage” stuff. In fact, I have no use for it. Give me stuff I like to look at and play around with, and I’m happy as a clam. And the more, the merrier!
