One thing my huge bunch of guitars has going is, if the radius is 7.25 then the wire is 6230 and if the radius is 9.5 or larger then the wire is larger than 6230. And so, it would really be hard to know how much of what I feel is 7.25 and how much is the fretwire size. And then there's fall away and the extent to which the wire size is clouded by how much finish is on the fretboard - and how much material has gone away doing fret levels, crown and polishes. I think many people dislike a 7.25 they might've played because the fretwork was buggered or was worn down through use and lost in the poly. IMO, almost all 7.25 necks that fret out are because someone didn't do their job right or the fretwork is worn out. And likewise, those of you with bad experiences with conical or compound radii, probably found a neck that was not properly executed. The best playing necks I have are these Conical Radii, super soft V necks with 6125 that Tommy Rosamond and his staff made for me.
