I'm seeing a lot of ink these days, so many tattoos. I asked my personal trainer at the gym a few years back if I needed to get a tattoo in order to get physically ripped, and his reply was "Yes, yes you do." :)

Most of my yoga instructors have them, most of the patrons at the bars we play have them, seems like so many people have tattoos... and each one has a story.

I have one too, which I got a few years ago, right before I turned 50.

I'm now thinking of getting a second one, a semicolon tattoo, which you can read about HERE. I know so many people that are dealing with serious mental and depression issues, just trying to show my support, that they are not alone, that life continues, its not the end of the sentence.

Anyway I'm curious, do you have any ink? Care to show us? What are your thoughts on tattoos?

    Take care ya'll...

Lots of tattoos these days. I think they replaced purple hair as the "individualist" proclamation.:)

I am neutral on tats, but I don't have any because of a low pain tolerance threshold.

I don't find they are attractive on women, but ymmv.

You forgot a key question/category : Do you wish you were tattoo-free ?

    (Raises hand and waves wildly...)

Even though it's only one, and it's on my shoulder and it's not bad, I was part of the initial wave of "regular" people in the 80's to get one and I regret it when I see it in the mirror.

The real 1%'ers these days ?

Them's that are clean as the day the Lord plopped 'em down.

Plus - the less identifying marks the better...

I wouldn't be as against them as I am if they weren't so permanent. I'd probably have a few if they were easily removable. I've heard laser tattoo removal is painful and expensive. Tattoos on women make them look cheap and tawdry.

I think the worst burn scar looks better than any tattoo.

I'm not a big fan tattoos. I especially don't find them attractive on girls, at all. If that makes me sexist I am sorry. I can't help it what my eyes like kr don't like.

Edit: I'm not saying I haven't seen good looking girls with tattoos or I'm not saying that a tattoo makes a pretty girl ugly. I'd even date a girl with tattoos. I just dont prefer them with tattoos

I have a bunch but with a shirt on you wouldn't know. I have a Waylon Jennings flying w, hank Williams Jr river symbol, my last name on my back, weird tribal I regret on my shoulder(a cover up of another tattoo I regret,), praying hands on the other shoulder, my sons name on my chest, my wife's name on my ribs, OUTLAW on my stomach, giant spud wrenches on my back below my name, a tattoo I did my self on each calf,. All in all my tattoos look pretty good I tried to be very symmetrical with their placement. I don't really think a semi colon accurately represents mental health awareness but whatever. Anyway I will probably get some more when I have extra money. Thinking a Waylon telecaster on my forearm, or my black rose guitar.

I have no tattoos, no piercings, just scars.
I too, do not care for tattooed women.
I feel that neck tattoos are a sure sign of a criminal element.

I have considered getting one though and have designed it in my head. It would combine all of my interests, the things that stand for who I am:
A guitar standing in the center, I think a LP in a cherry burst would look nicest.
Crossing it are a shotgun (Rem 870) and a fishing rod (spinning).
Across the top a pair of checkered flags.
Across the entire back of it is the Arizona Flag, the sunrise.
    Maybe someday...

Our local news just aired a segment on people getting the number "22" tattoo to bring awareness that on the average 22 veterans are committing suicide daily .......

Not for me. My tastes change frequently and I do get bored with things too easily. They're fine on other people for those that enjoy tats.

Any excuse to put some Rory Gallagher on here.

I tend not to like a tattoo or a couple on a lass, but for some reason a whole sleeve can be alluring.

    Cheers,

I do not have one; being a nonconformist, I often prefer to set myself apart from the crowd

    Not for me.
My 21 year old daughter has many.
I'd get one IF I went through something with friends.
The original Allman Brothers Band members have a magic mushroom tattooed to their calf.
    I kinda get that.
If you are in the military, and you survive a battle and your comrades in arms get a tattoo to commemorate it, I get that.
Anyways, as a musician, I see lots of folks with em'.
    They obviously dig em'.
    Cool with me.
