    Hi all,
I finally scanned my polaroid photos of my old 1963 custom coloured (candy apple red?) Esquire / Tele conversion and my 68 Tele.

I traded my 68 Tele for the 63 in 1979. Yes, I painted my 68 pickguard black. Also, please excuse my attempt at tie dying for my grade school art project. o_O

    Here are the pics!

Yeah maybe, I don't know for sure. The vintage guitar guy that I did the trade with said that it was "candy apple red".

However, he also told me a few years later that the sunburst les Paul deluxe that I traded the 63 back to him for was a 69! (I don't think sunburst was an option till the 70's?)

That looks exactly like my ‘74 when I got it.

Anyone else think this was Fiesta red? I'm thinking it doesn't really look like Candy Apple. Dakota was the other red, correct?

Were all three reds available in 1963?

I say Fiesta Red also. I had a CAR 67 and it looked way different. Cool photos.

It's definitely not Candy Apple Red, which is a metallic colour. Dakota would be darker, richer in colour. Probably Fiesta. But Polaroids are not known for their accurate colour rendition.

Looks like Fiesta red to me, great looking guitars. The polaroid hue brings back some memories. Taking photo's was more fun when you had to wave them to speed things up and the camera made lots of noises.

Sweet pictures. Looks like the best kind of red to me... that being fiesta.
