I don't know if there is a set rule for this one. It is modulation, so in the middle or towards the end would make sense, but I could also see using it up front.

That being said, I have a Micro Pog, and I run it near the end, before delay and reverb.

Cool pedals

The Pog samples (digitally) whatever you are playing. It doesn't need to be at the front of the path, like a traditional Boss Octave pedal. As such, you can place it wherever its suits you. Some like it front of ODs and Dirt; some like it after. You could also put it behind delays so that you can change the pitch of the trails. The Pog can go anywhere...

+1 with artdecade.
I have the micro and it works anywhere in the chain. I ended up using before the delay and verb (third to last). Cool pedal and tracks amazingly well.

Whaddya mean +1 for Artdecade? That's what I said!

I'm feelin' kinda left out over here!

Bruce, if you can swing it, and you plan on using weird octave effects a lot, I'd spring for the Pog2. I've been debating upgrading myself. Either way, they're both great

Yeah it's an interesting debate! Both are really at the top of the class octave wise. The POG 2 gives a little more control over everything so I can see why it is worth it as you will have total control of the sounds it is producing.

The main attraction to me about upgrading is the preset capability of the Pog2.

(Plus, the added weirdness, of course)

If you just want 12 string, bass, and organ emulation, the Micro will get the job done and then some

Pog 2 = More sounds, complicated, ability to preset your favorite sounds
Micro Pog = Simplicity, having to adjust knobs for different sounds
Both sound great, I have owned both. Traded the Pog 2 for the Micro Pog, I'm a simple guy, what can i say

I prefer to put any pitch effects as early as possible, which in practice for me means after wah & comp but before dirt, mods, and delays. I find they have an easier time tracking, and sound their best there. YMMV!

Analog pitch shifters, like the Boss OC2, need to be up front in order to properly track the guitar.

The Pog or Eventide Pitchfactor (<-- my pedal of choice) are digital and they sample the signal before processing it. As such, they can be placed anywhere and this typically makes them more versatile.
