I been researching a tone master Twin/ or deluxe and looking at various other higher end amps (tone kings, z,,,..etc).
Last night i pulled out my old katana 50w and plugged in my tele.
2 hours later.....my search may be over. This thing pairs with a tele like nothing else i ever played through...it is dead on the money for my tele sound that i was after. I was looking forward to spending some money on a cool amp...so ...now what?

    Same here.
Clean channel, add light blues driver/natural OD/Tube screamer booster, compression and slapback delay.. it’s the perfect Tele tone.

thinking of selling my other amps. None of them were high dollar anyway.

I'm still in denial and like to tell myself that nothing beats the sound and feel of my tube amp.

But modern modeling amps sound so good and are just so much fun...

My 1st amp is a Katana 50. I have bought a PRRI and a Reeves head since. You'll never hear me say the Katana sounds bad. I was playing through it last night. Nice sounding amp!

If you're satisfied with what you have, there must be something wrong. Go lay down and take a nap, then come back and try it again.

Do you own a jazzmaster / 335 / hollowbody / bass / 12 string? If not, get busy! The economy needs stimulating.

    Katanas do sound good.

Glad it works for you, I thought the Katana 50 sounded good for playing around the house at low volume but it didn't work in a band situation for me.

Help, please. I'm trying to figure out how you did this. I pulled up my Katana 50 on my lap top. I set to clean. I cannot find light blues driver. How do I add that? I found natural OD/and T-scream which I assume is Tube Screamer. Can't find compression or slapback delay.

A Fender SuperSonic 22 is my favorite amp outside of things I couldn’t get away with....JCM 800 etc, however I play my Katana Mk II 95% of the time. I have returned one (input jack faulty), but otherwise no issues, with no tubes, and no real routine maintenance, combined with no standby/warmup requirement, push button “amp models” close enough for me that sound great at bedroom levels it’s a win. Also doesn’t weigh much and compact.

Hard to do much better for many of us who are not professionals and IMO easy to do worse. I view it as a sweet spot between function and price. Great value.

I have used mine on gigs and it worked very well...also...there is a standby on the wattage knob. I dont really know what constitutes 'pro gear' or why this does not qualify. If it gets your sound, then you MUST use the gear that gets your sound even if its cheap.

Is that the Reeves that Johnny Hiland plays? He gets a great tone.
