    Legend had it:

Golden Ear Ring pulled the plug on Lynyrd Skynyrd in the middle of Freebird. According to Joe Barnes, it was due to the fact that GE found the stage too hot, following Skynyrd, on the tour they were on together. When the power was restored, Skynyrd picked it up, right where they left off. Didn't miss a lick.

This was the middle 70's, and Freebird was no joke.

I remember distinctly when "harvest" came out, truely original songwriting and melodies and nothing else like it...i wore out the grooves, just a fantastic piece of work. But there were a lot of metal heads even that early in the game that would turn a deaf ear....their loss.

The real smelly kind, that grandpa puts on the windowsill to let "sweat" for awhile, before eating it.

And it gives him so much gas no one can stand to be around him

I'm off to the kitchen for a lettuce wedge covered with bleu cheese dressing, bacon sprinkles, and chives <drf64 puts on bleu tooth ear buds and lip syncs to Cinnamon Girl>

When Harvest came out, I thought "finally Neil gets a payday - it is about time, the way he got ripped off by the suits when in the Springfield. Now, where's some money for Richie Furay?"

And I knew then I would have to share with the masses.

Harvest is a fine album but he's got so many IMO that are better.

Yeah, I wasn't referring to his singing, just his general person. We need him the same way the world needs Willie Nelson.

BottleRock dickheads did that to the Foo Fighters last year. I live 15 miles from the venue and you couldn't pay me to go. Knew it was a bad idea when they announced the first one. The fair grounds are smack dab in the middle of a residential area and the traffic congestion is epic nightmarish at best even without an overpriced music festival going on. Wine country my ass. Tourist trap is more like it.

No but I'll just leave this right here for those who think Niel shouldn't play an electric

I just think it’s funny that the people that complain about Neil call him an old angry whinny degenerate and they come across as sounding just like what they described.

I wonder what awesome singers they prefer. I’m going to go on those threads and spew on and on about how I hate that artist. I realize it’s a “Free World” and we can all have different opinions but the hatred and rudeness on this forum is getting redundant and ridiculous. I’m starting to see why we’re loosing so many great members.

    It’s just sad
