I am running a campaign to be voted as a TDPRI moderator here. Here are some of my numerous qualifications -

I have been a member here for over 10 years

It has been many years since I got a warning from any of the moderators

I hosted a TDPRI gathering here in Houston that was well attended and highly regarded

I own two Telecasters (one is an 82/52 RI) and a 68 Silverface Deluxe Reverb

I have lots of free time to help keep an eye on things

I haven't pissed anyone off in a long time.. Even @getbent likes some of my posts now

I have met quite a few other TDPRI members, including Paul Mr TDPRI himself

I'm a chill laid back guy that is very easy to get along with, yet I generally don't take crap from anyone

I respect the rules here and would do my best to see that they are followed fairly

I've met @Redd Volkaert several times and he knows who I am, in a "oh ya I remember you now" kind of way

I've seen many of the greatest Telecaster players perform live, including Danny Gatton, Bill Kirchen, Keith Richards, Roy Buchanan, Albert Lee and Albert Collins

And finally, unlike @TheGoodTexan , I still live in Texas and have lived here all my life.. so there is that :)

I appreciate your support... and I promise that if I'm not elected, my supporters will not riot. ;)

    Thank you for your consideration!

Just curious are there perks to being a mod ? Seems like a lot of work. Who would want to put up with all of us all the time ? I have wondered

I don't care if this makes me unpopular, but...

I'm a member of a few guitar and fishkeeping forums. No one gets to be a moderator just because they ask to be one or want to be one or campaign to be one.

    Just curious. What's your motivation?
Also are all the moderators from the US of A, if so, why?
I know , personally, a member of the NAMM board. He's from Adelaide, has an apartment in Queensland, works on a board for imports of musical gear into Australia and lives part time in California.
We have members from all over the world but US moderators.

    The maple kind - awooooo

Honestly, I had no idea these thing came up for a vote - thought the position passed by inheritance.

The moderator gig is a labor of love, as far as I can see.
When I helped @ the local open mic for a number of years, I gained useful acoustic & vocal mixing skills, but rarely had time to actually sing/play, 'cos how it IS each night is rarely how it's Supposed to be, regardless of how clearly the process is described, orally, in signage and via email.

Everybody believes those guidelines are for Other folks.
Prolly the same thing Mods see here.

Good luck and don't be too proud to offer to buy my vote.
    Peace - Deeve

@brogh (who lives in Italy) currently only has 5,107 posts, and he is a moderator.

An unbridled lust for power, feeding a huge ego, and all of the hippy chicks of course. It is why all the moderators do what they do.. or so I am told.

I’ll vote for you. But I think you might have an unrealized masochistic streak.

My grandmother used to tell me, “Be careful what you ask for. You might get it.” :p

It doesn't appear to be a policy. I'm a member of two sister sites that have some non-US mods.

You should exercise more moderation in your campaign strategy.

I've tried doing things the old fashioned way.. being a nice guy who creates thoughtful posts, helping out with the fund raisers (well, once), sending christmas presents to all of the current moderators... and look what it has gotten me so far?

I figured it was time to take a new approach.

If you are still living in your van, then you get my unequivocal support and endorsement. Otherwise, I'll go for the bacon.

If you mail me some of that Texas bacon, then I will vote for you even if you sold out and live on a foundation.:D

I love ya Big Bend! I think you'd be a great moderator... like a lot of things... it is not what you might think it is... but, I think you are awesome (and have thought that for as long as I can remember.)

I decided to go with a new 4x4 Ford Diesel Truck and a Four Wheel Popup truck camper instead. A little more of my style, and will go anywhere in the back country. In 2020 I spent over 200 nights on the road living out of my truck.

Voting/campaign seams too much like the p word

    Get off my lawn!

I have nothing against bigbend but In this day and age it’s hard to know who to trust and what agenda they have

As in actually upholding the guidelines or just deleting at Will, again not say big bend would do this

Maybe I’m just sentimental and don’t have any problems with how it’s going now (as far a moderation)

    Sometimes more isn’t better

Now if it’s vacant and you’ve been called upon it’s different, just jumping out there and saying “I want to moderate!” Is a different thing
