I have gear from years past that shows a lot of wear. Since the effort is being made to make new gear look like that old gear, I prefer to use the same term to describe the wear on both new and old gear in the same manner: "beat to s**t".

I was speaking metamorphically of Blowtorch's vast knowledge, which just is, and must not be questioned, flows into the internet which is a world that lives but not breathe, now you've made me explain it and ruined it for the mases. However, I'm sure that this pearl of wisdom which was directed at one Mr. Blowtorch was received and understood by him in its fullest.

its actually Eliced, then if it doesn't take you need to make sure it is re-eliced, note eliced is egyptian for wear on a musical instrument (old Kingdom), though some say it was acquired by the Egyptians from the Hittites who (also coined the word Hit for a choice musical composition - hence Hittites) who used the word licey to describe a funky old instrument that could literally infect the player with body lice.

I really am most dreadfully sorry. If there’s anything I can do to atone, you have only to ask, as long as there’s no actual financial outlay involved I’m sure I can oblige.

The reason being, almost all educated people were placemen employed by the Church to get their mitts on as much property as possible; poverty was for other people.

Right, and next you'll be telling me that that the correct spelling of skellington is "skeleton".

Actually it's not. Although many people pronounce it that way.
"Is it OK to say nucular?"
"The pronunciation (noo'kyə-lər), which is generally considered incorrect, is an example of how a familiar phonological pattern can influence an unfamiliar one …"
"Nucular" is a commonly used metathetic form of the word "nuclear". While no dictionaries list this particular pronunciation as correct, several make mention of it because of its increased usage.

The other one that bugs me is Jewelry. Some say "Jewlery", which is incorrect when speaking of jewels.
"Jewlery is anything that appertains to the Jewish Faith or peoples."

Well yes. It replaced High French.

To be fair to the North Americas, it's only taken them 200 years to mangle both the English and French languages ;)

Well that made me laugh! Thanks for posting it.

If I were pedantic, which I am, my sole criticism would be pretty minor. It doesn’t “sound” like you’re adding lice to your guitar again, it sounds fine when you say it, it just “looks” like you’re adding lice, when you read it. That is a lot of lice, btw. But thanks again, Squire (as they say Dahn Sarf).

This English major-turned-X-ray-tech approves of this message. (Also, I've wondered how to correctly format the past-tense spelling of "relic" myself). Thank you!

Gad. I don’t like the sound of your job, or hobby.

I was going to say “Why? Have you lost something?” but I couldn’t come up with a better joke than that, so I’ll not be wide with you.

You spelled jewellery wrong, and the word for appertaining to the Jewish peoples is 'Jewry'

Jewellery describes decorative items worn on the person, the word you are looking for is Jewry...
