    I’ve got a 3-way toggle switch and I’m going to mount it on the top horn similar to a Les Paul.

    It’s actually a Westfield Tele-copy and it’s feature light so it should make an interesting guitar.

    The knobs are volume, tone and SPC (Strat Presence Control). All the hardware is black.

    When it’s finished I’ll add some more pictures and a sound clip.

    :) Peter

    My '72 RI Fender Thinline Tele in an FSR 2tsb. The only change from stock is I've added 500k pots. I'm not certain it is an improvement, I think I was closer to a single coil sound with the original pots. I'll give it a while and switch back if I don't get what I'm after.

    I like this variation. I like that it has the standard Tele control setup.

    I saw this thread yesterday, but didn't post a reply because my one thinline isn't an FMIC product, and differs from the '69 & '72 Thinlines in several respects, most notably the pickguard. (Oh, sorry, I guess that's "scratch plate" to you. :twisted:)

    My Logan Custom 'Logo' Thinline, prototype - 5.jpg Logan Custom 'Logo' Thinline, 2009 Prototype - 1.jpg

    The word "hate" is too strong for what I feel about the pickguard on Fender Thinlines, but I don't really find it appealing. To me, it looks like an amoeba with its pseudopod extended. :twisted:

    So my custom made thinline by Bob Logan features the standard tele pickguard and control plate. The custom cutout is an approximation of the script letter "L" for his name "Logan" on the headstock. (But since my name is Larry, it's a nice bonus that it's my initial, too.) So this one is known as his Logan Custom "Logo" thinline. My copy, BTW, is Bob's prototype. Standard controls, Wilkinson bridge plate and pickups, honey blonde color, nitrocellulose finish. The body is a pine core with alder top and back veneers.

    Admittedly I'm still in the honeymoon phase (3-ish months) but it's currently my go-to guitar out of a bunch that are waaaaay more high-end. The best part is that I think of Dad every time I pick it up.

    I bought a loaded body from a guy in Sheffield (eBay seller theguitarengraver). The top is aluminium and it is screwed to a no name P90 loaded body. I bought the neck from a US based eBay seller. I don't know how heavy it is, I don't recall it being exceptionally light or heavy. I will weigh it when I am home tomorrow. The engraver has not sold anything on eBay for over six months, and I cannot find his website, so don't know if he is still operating.

    I am partial to a bit of bling;

    Thinline temporarily fitted with a Squier Strat neck before I found the rosewood neck.

    Edit: Woopsie! This was thinline thread. I must get myself glasses or brains. Sorry! But does this count? It has cavity size of pickguard to reduce weight. So technically speaking, it’s hollowbody! :lol:

    I did the same to my '72 Thinline RI. the 500K pots made it seem lifeless, there was no sparkle. I put the 250K pots back in.
