Wow, thanks for your input! I think the naturals have it. The Jeff Bridges- Dude gif highlighted how ridiculous a lot of these fades are and it is probably best to keep it simple.

I will post a pic later tonight with the pickups and tremolo laying on the guitar. Perhaps this will help validate the majority vote!

Another option could be to mix the two ideas and do a fade with one color fading into natural. I was going to say black fading to natural, but then I looked back at the picture and the bottom end really has the most figure, so black might cover that up too much.

Whatever you do, pick it because YOU want it.

Turn the gradient 90°. Maybe a natural-to-color burst.

Justba thought since you are photoshopping and it would be a quick "let's see" Try the gradient from top to bottom not left to right.

I'm not a fan of the gradients, either.
My M.O. is to seal it with garnet shellac for a nice amber color, then clear coat.
Apply a few extra coats of shellac around the rim for a burst.

I am going to throw in a classic lemon burst and fade (bottom to top) in there for consideration but it looks like natural is a natural winner.

I was thinking natural until I saw the mock up with the white p'ups and knobs, now I'm leaning towards something like an emerald green burst. Might just be the angle of the photo but are the neck pocket and p'up routes deep enough?

I say leave it natural and change pup covers or soak them in espresso.

Hmmmm. Good suggestion but everybody seems to be leaning to natural! It is the angle, the neck pocket is 5/8" deep. The pickup routes are just as deep. Also, I don't think you can soak EMG pickups in espresso can you? I mean, they are epoxy sealed...
