Hags, I have read many "wear a glove" responses where I post this question, but I've never seen a glove with as thick a palm cushion as this. I'm sure you just took a Google image, but could you tell me what type of glove this is, or remember the image link you took this from? I am going to invest in a "proper" glove as a solution, and this one seems awesome! -Karl

and for a far right field suggestion:
Raise our action up and just play slide on your guitar,
but this is from a guy that only plays slide.
the hice aspect of playing slide guitar is that the neck can be twisted or bowed, have a tore up finder board barb wire frets, playin' slide, none of it matters

Hello, I am completely new to TDPRI. Please see attached images. Purchased this custom guitar, it is perfect EXCEPT the neck is ungodly thin! I am 6'4" (193 cm) and have very large hands. All my guitars are 1" or thicker necks. This guitar is perfect except the neck is awfully thin, Ibanez shred style. I am not a luthier, or skilled in woodworking! I live in Los Angeles USA, are there ANY hobbyists or builders someone can recommend, to assist in this project? I want to hire someone to "thicken" the neck to 1" U shape, by any means! Only condition is to keep the guitar light (it is only 4 lbs. and I have back problems) so not looking to add absurd weight. I am less interested in an aesthetically beautiful solution, just a functional one!! Many thanks for anyone's guidance. -Karl

Interesting but not all so rare situation. I read all the jokes and here is a slightly less fun alternative. Find a luthier in your area. Let him take off the fretboard, put a slice of wood between the neck and fretboard thus thickening the neck, let him glue it up, sand and refinish. Voila you're done.

It's not rocket science.

Except that you'd also have to carve the neck pocket deeper or everything will sit too high.

If it's really wizard thin (.750ish" thick, I think) and he wants it 1", he's looking to add almost 1/4". That's pretty substantial and another reason I'd be wary of the veneer method. Put me in the camp that's says just have a new neck made.

Already suggested, won't work. See post #58.
