Great playing, and tone!
Featuring the infamous Alan Freed, too.

Wasn’t ronson’s les Paul a late-60’s/early 70’s model?Mick Ronson:

But his Custom wasn't a fifties, it's a late sixties, you can tell by it having two pickups, not three.Mick Ronson:

Nope, that's not a fifties made Custom, it's a seventies one, since they didn't make white customs until the early seventies.Randy Rhoads View attachment 1085363
Too bad he modded it, what was he thinking? This fellow sure played em

In fact I don’t think he ever played a burst! even in their era, what does that tell ya!
They did some white Les Paul Customs in the 50's, although only as special order. I remember a 3xP90 Les Paul Custom in White, once owned by Erhard Bochen, but I am not sure if the guitar has been verified as being original.Nope, that's not a fifties made Custom, it's a seventies one, since they didn't make white customs until the early seventies.

My favorite Les Paul player. Dickey refinished his 1957 gold top to translucent red himself. Great musician.
My mistake. I forgot the 1950's tag. Thank you for correcting me. I remember in a post you said you saw Buchanan and with his Les Paul and his tone was still like an ice pick through the skull.lolGreat pic!
Scholz’s Paul is a 1968, and Buchanan’s Custom is a 70’s.
I saw em’ both, in the day.
Buchanan was playing this guitar when I saw him at the Armadillo in 1979.
Mike Ness’ guitar is a 1976.
