I was browsing at GC the other day and they had a American Special Tele in stock, having never played one I have to say, I like those jumbo frets. They seemed a little strange at first but I quickly got used to them. Now I'm gassing for this baby!

I picked one up a couple of months ago, because it was Shell Pink, and Shell Pink is a color that seems to come around every 20 years or so. Currently at the top of the pile. Took a minute to get used to the frets, and I wasn't crazy about the TS pickups at first, but now I like both of them. Plays easy up and down the neck, with a light touch. And with a little bit of gain -- AC15 top boost at 12 noon -- the TS pickups are smooth & bright at the same time. And it's pink! Did I mention it was pink?

I really like the jumbo frets. Its not that I dislike vintage or med jumbo, but I feel like I can move around the board faster on my American Special than any other guitar I own.

I'm also not a hot pickup kind of guy, but the Texas Specials are really nice. I planned on swapping them out when I bought the guitar but at this point they've made there case and are here to stay.

I wish they would dial the fret size back, just a little.

I've got this very neck (same as the Highway One after the mid 2000s) and I've tried and tried. I can't do my job on these frets.

Boris, I know what you mean. I’m going to have to spend some more time testing one out before I pull the trigger.

I bought one a few months ago. It was heavy & I didn't care for the Frets so I returned it... I did like the Pickups.. The FSR Color thing to different Sellers is annoying. That turned me off. I wanted the Gold but it was only available at a Seller who is a pain in the Ass to do Biz with...

    Good luck with yours though....
