I love her. She was always one of those names that I heard but never checked out in my formative years. Once music went digital and everything was available on demand, I downloaded her Rid of Me album. I was kicking myself that I hadn't discovered her sooner.

I am a Polly Jean fan.

I once played this one like 10 times in a row.

    Love her stuff!

She appears to me to be the kind of woman that most guys think would be a cool girlfriend, but after about three days of that you'd snap into reality and wonder why the hell you ever thought this was a good idea.

Same goes for Tori Amos, Shirley Manson and Liz Phair.

    They syko!

I first heard the Rid of Me record when I was about fourteen, maybe a year after it came out, and it blew my mind. It's so heavy, weird, and uncomfortably emotional. Perfect for those years! Also, her main guitar at the time was a black tele with a white pick guard...my first electric was a MIM black Squier tele with a white pick guard.

PJ Harvey writes great songs and plays them superbly.

She's one of my favorites since '92 or something like that, when I first got rid of me.

Her demos are always worth checking out as well.
