Take my name out of the list! I sold mine yesterday, could not get use to the neck and the tiny frets! Upgraded to a Deluxe Ash Telecaster

Me too. Had mine for 25 years (1985 MIJ), but sold it a year ago. Rarely played it after a while due to it not having the kind of feel or sound I preferred. Plus I don't think the reissues look that great. Obviously the originals are great and the Crook paisleys, but they never got the color right on the MIJ ones.

10 Dec 1983 JV Pink Paisley. So rare some say it's fake ;) Now equipped with BKP The Boss set, and sounds even better

I keep hearing about JV Paisleys. How is this determined? Mine was from 1985 and had a JV serial number, but as far as I know there is no special value for JV Paisley Fender guitars.

Here's mine. Picked it up from the luthier today after a set-up, new nut, and having the electrics sorted. It sounds and plays amazingly now! The tone and volumes are better now than ever before! It's in excellent condition for a 30 year old guitar (I've had it since new) and now the electrics are all done I think it'll be gigging again very shortly.

CIJ around 1999.

what is strange: gold hardware and says "special edition vintage 1968" on the neckplate.

anyone got a clue what that is? never seen this one before but love it to bits already..

Not according to the very site we are on, the first imported Paisley Tele's hit the USA in 1985, they weren't produced in Japan prior to late 1984 and then CBS imported them here:

http://www.tdpri.com/resources/paisley-teles/

to wit:

"...Fender JAPAN started making both the Pink Paisley and Blue Floral Telecasters and Stratocaster REISSUES in late 1984. And, Fender in the last throws of being owned by CBS at this time and having seen the power of the reissue market started importing the MIJ Paisley/Floral Reissues."

I'm not impugning your integrity, I have no doubt they might have been floating the idea in a catalog prior to when they actually made them. Nor is it impossible to believe they one-offed a couple prior.

Fender Japan started in 1982 so is it likely in their first full year they were diving into a guitar Fender couldn't give away the first time around?

Here is a Fender JV Paisley Telecaster made in 1983

Hi there everyone! I've been a Pink Paisley lurker for a while, I have a CIJ (which I bought from the Yellow Wiggle) and an MIJ at present.

Question for you guys: What do you think would be a good price for a neck from a 2003 CIJ Pink Paisley RI? Neck has very minor wear. Thanks.

Wha......? I'm just looking to part with the neck. I just can't seem to warm up to it and plan on replacing it with an Am St modern C shape or something comparable. $500 USD seems steep.
