Last year I did my first refin/mod project and it worked out pretty well. So this year I decided to scratch my itch for a P90 loaded axe and a 70s style Tele in one project.
I started with this Squier Custom Tele

I knew they had these with P90s as well so I was hoping for a routing and yes...

I did a refin in a standard red metallic from Motip:

Finished it off with Nordstrand P90s as I already had one in the drawer, black hardware throughout, short three barrel bridge, a nice chunky baked maple neck, new pots and wiring (with some assistance from my buddy) and it's a pretty decent raunchy sounding P90 axe now!

I really love this! I remember looking for a p90 loaded Deluxe pickguard in the past and being unable to locate one for a decent price. May I ask where you were able to source one?

Got it off ebay! I used the full name of the P90 loaded one. I think it is Squier Custom II Telecaster. British seller if I recall correctly.
Only thing is I had to cut it to fit at the neckside and there are useless screw holes next to the pickup holes. Not catching the eye too much though.

Oh and I'll dig in, don't worry

    Wait a minute,

You kidnapped an innocent squier then forcibly hooked her on heroin to put her to work on the street for you?

Ohhh you think pimped means you modified

    Carry on

    Nice try, Big Brother.
I bet you could tape those screw holes from the back side and then splooge some kind of white hardening filler material into the holes. The tape would hold it on the back side until it cured, and then you could just peel it off. Might need to do a light leveling/polishing of the material on the top side, but that should be easy.

I woulda stopped after the neck & pickups. But I have conservative/boring tastes in guitar and car colors. Sounds like you're going to play it more than look at it anyway. Nice

What you've done looks really good, but I'm pretty sure the gates of Fender heaven will be forever locked to you.

Hahaha well they got a P90 series out now, right? Even a Strat with two P90s. I think I'm forgiven :D
Anyway, it still has a nice and recognizable Tele top end.

    I'm not worthy...

Well, the "before" pic looked really good. But the "after" pic looks really good, too! And I like the black hardware.

    Nice!

Adding Bootstrap Palo Duros, 4-way switch control panel and pots, and Musiclily locking tuners to my 2020 BSB Squier Affinity Tele made it one of my favorites.

I made some of the same mods to one, starting with a dual-HB Squier Custom, changing it into a dual-P90 Squier Custom II.

I ordered through my closest guitar store a new Custom II pickguard, and got got two Duncan Designed P90s and put in it.

More recently I have put a 3-saddle ashtray style bridgeplate and a Duncan Alnico II Pro single coil in the bridge. I used a Dremel to cut the Custom II pickguard out of the way of the bridgeplate.

Yep! Much better IMHO! Black on black is nice on a traditional tele, but looks dated to me on a deluxe - but you've solved that!

Those screw holes were used by Fender/Squier to raise and lower the pickups without removing the guard. I still use mine for that, but now with the ashtray bridge and its SC, the 2 aside it are now still there unused.

I took two pickguard screws and screwed into mine. The guard was riddled with screws anyway, what’s two more for it?!

That's a good idea. I was thinking of doing that but using tape on the front side. Both ways will work out nicely, I guess.
But I'm going to play it for a good while before modding it more  I have a nice custom decal for it and I want to respray the headstock. Next spring, haha!
