For REAL joy, throw a dynamic mic on it and record! They're really great recording amps.

I own my original one. The speaker is blown. I have asked several times on this site where to get a new speaker and never get an answer.

Any fellow pigsters know where I can ?

Gary

Gary, you can order one from Pignose. I think its $25 or less. I had gotten one off of eBay, but there was battery acid in it and only worked w/adapter. It also made an awful noise (not the normal Pignose hum). Anyway, I sent it back, it got lost in the mail, accidentally threw out my delivery confirmation, and I'm out $40. Bummer. Should've just gotten a new one.

Here's one of my favorite YouTube videos.

Clapton on Derek & the Domino's = Tweed Champ (pretty well documented)

Zappa on Apostrophe = Pignose (also well documented)

What a great album, Apostrophe.

"But he told me right then when the top popped open
There was nothin' his box won't do
With the oil of Aphrodite, and the dust of the Grand Wazoo
He said "You might not believe this, little fella
But it'll cure your asthma too"

Maybe that was inspired by the Pignose?

Jack Bruce's bass solo on the title cut is a butt kicker too.

How can you forget those classic tones from Ralph Macchio's Pignose in Crossroads?

I've had a couple over the years and I love them.

Who do you think you're jivin' with all that cosmic debris?

I love my little Pignose!

That great, raunchy sound is a classic.

And, no, you shouldn't connect the "preamp out" directly to a speaker cab.

Just loving that vintage pink grill cloth! Can you put that thing on casters?

I love my Pignose. It's probably my most-used amp, as I use it at home much more than my AC-powered amps. I love grabbing it, a cable, a guitar, and playing. I also use it for plugging in acoustics for accompanying my wife's duo for playing at nursing homes. Very versatile amps, too. Great for harp players.

Welcome to the forum, champ72. Some nice blues playin' there and the tone is great too. Every time I listen, it makes me want to go out and get another Pignose.

BTW, no one's looking at the paint. ;)

I have one of these:

As a bass amp it’s just ok. But it is handy when there’s no electricity at all around or when visiting someone’s home and they’re probably not too keen about me moving their furniture around looking for an electrical outlet.
It actually sounds pretty decent (in a pinch) as a guitar amp.

When I was in high school (mid 70's) our band instructor had one (he was a terrific jazz guitar player) and we thought it was the coolest thing ever!

I found one in a pawn shop 15 or 16 years ago and grabbed it. Great little amp! Keeps the battery manufacturers in business!
