Love mine. Got one because I heard Schenker used one to record some UFO songs. Only You Can Rock Me, Born To Lose solo, etc.. I tie mine to a separate power amp for more volume.

Recorded using a Pignose and a Danelectro BLT slap echo.
You can buy both for less than $200 bucks.

I have one of the white ones currently (Have owned many) and it sounds pretty good. Reacts to guitar volume control so I keep it cranked and adjust from there. Have recorded extensively with the little thing with great results. Preamp out to FOH works great if run on batteries. Can get sketchy on power supply though. Oink!

I have one and I think it sounds like ass, I never use it.
I don't have one to try it out, but supposedly you have to lower the guitar's volume to get a clean sound. May be interesting with effects as well.

Anyone here ever play a bass through a little Pignose?
You probably won't get much bass out of that speaker, and you may blow it. They did make a bass model, but it was a lot bigger.

I’ve repaired a few of these. An original (L) and a newer one (R). The circuit board hasn’t changed much over the years with two transistors that go bad. Leaking batteries often mess things up, so pull out those six AAs when you’re not using it.

I was mostly thinking as a type of preamp or effect prior to an amp. Mostly just curious.

Ther was one Elton John song that featured Dee Murray (?) Playing a "phased Pignose bass." Seems like it was "The ***** is Back."

Edit: automatic Asterisks - funny!

I have one in my small amp arsenal too, I dig it a lot. Mine is a new one that I think sounds better than the old one I had. They make killer preamps too, here's a vid I got hipped to over on the Marshall forum.

Listen to that dirt!!! Geez, what a cool band thats mostly overlooked these days.

My Pignose is too loud and nasty to play at home, but it sounds great at a quiet band rehearsal with another guitar, keyboard, cajon and singers. Nothing else so small can project like that.

Common response...Perhaps they are not very consistent. I've had them in the past and was uninspired but none sounded bad....This new one just rocks with my CS Broadcaster.

Coincidence this photo just popped up on my FB feed! So Cal concert goers may remember Harry who roller skated with a Pignose throughout the parking lots! A SoCal icon!

Met him in Boulder last year on the Dead and Co tour.

A local store has a used one of these (no idea how old) for $75. I'm tempted to try it out.
