I had the same issue with mine, but, mine was a scratch and dent........still plays great. Does it look like and x cut across the top? I use mine constantly on the boat, porch, where ever.

Hey, Steve, I've been checking your videos out for a while now...unbelievable skills. They actually influenced my ordering a 7-100 last week for use with my harps. Thanks for posting them up.

With the shoe on the other foot here on my end (beginner harp player...), I see that I've gotta loooong road ahead of me.

I just bought my first one off of ebay, should be here on monday or tues, I can't wait to try it, fella said he swapped in a jenson mod speaker and added a speaker cutoff switch, and the factory speaker is included in the deal, should sound real fine with my '60 tele and my early 60's Kay 335................I do have a question,.... how long is the battery life, and is there a better battery system?.Thanks,Steve

I get about 16 hours out of mine using rechargeables........if it's cranked up the whole time........about 18 hours if I use it on the boat with my I Pod.

I just got a second hand 7-100 yesterday.

Sadly the input jack is faulty and it crackles and craps out. So that'll need changing if I can find one that can replace it.

Does anyone know whether Pignose sell spares off their website?

And where can I get a schematic for the amp? I tried googling for this but haven't come up with anything yet.

    Memories!!!
While I don't currently own one I do have very fond moments of taking my pignose (named "Snort") with me to Okinawa while in the Marines in 1976. I also took my brand new Sunburst Les Paul Deluxe. Both accompaied me on my trips to Phillipines, Australia and later Korea. Both were a hit in the clubs in Okinawa.
Alas, upon return to New York I sold it to my sister's boyfriend. They broke up. He got the Pignose and gave me back my sister. He got the better deal. LOL

Finally got the input jack sorted - that proved to be more of a mission than I thought it would be!! Apparently its a 'normally open' jack and all the shops had here were 'normally closed' ones which, having tried one, wasn't going to work in this amp.

Eventually got fed up trailing around looking for the right thing and put it into a local repair shop who were able to sort it out for me - albeit for $45!!

But I've now got an amp that works and I'm very pleased with it. As well as being able to use it for late night practice, I can take it to gigs and run my harmonica mic through it for that real dirty sound and it's also a backup amp should anything crap out at a gig. (Let's hope I never have to use it for this reason!).

I put my G40V into a Fender Champ 12 cab I was able to pick up on the cheap. It's a whole different amp pushing a 12.

You can count me in, but please tell me why there is no proper specs in the back plate on what to power it with?

It just says 9 V and there's is a hole for a mini plug but what's the polarity and how much current my Piggy needs?

I'm talking about the regular typical Pignose amp, the lil' one.

I've got a 30/60 combo, first amp I ever purchased.
Back in the late 70's/early 80's I bought my first guitar and amp, a 72 Tele and the
Pignose 30/60. Still have them both, but the pig doesn't get out much.
I had not played it in many years, but a few months ago I plugged it in just for nostalgia and had forgotten what a good sound it has for a ss amp.

Ok, I found a picture of the power adapter but it's tiny.
    http://www.pignoseamps.com/index.php?disp=detail&subcat=acc&id=275

I think I can see that the tip is positive and it gives 300 mA current, but maybe someone can verify this.

I've actually used a 7-100 on a couple of different albums. It's great for jamming electric with acoustic players, and I can just put a mic in front of it and get a terrific recorded tone.
