I've noticed that there are several electric guitars that come equipped with piezo pickups as well as magnetic ones (like the les Paul) and I was wondering if I could do the same to my Tele? I have a strat switch lying around and a piezo I was planning to put on my acoustic til I saw the les Paul with piezo, I know piezo pickups go under the bridge on acoustics is it the same on a Tele? And stupid question but it has to be hollow body right?

One of the Nashville series has a piezo, but how good it is, I don't know. I have the basic Nashville deluxe, with the stratocaster pickup. Then the next one has the piezo. The top of the line has the b-bender. Others will have more details.

Well I guess it depends on the piezo. Under-bridge piezo's should be fine on a solidbody too, but I'm pretty sure you have to install a preamp if you want it to sound good - I've tried installing a Schatten piezo ~0,5 mm's wood under the bridge and it's only working out well with a preamp.

Alternatively you could just buy a (link removed) in it, but i guess they're expensive, and I don't know much about their performance..

Pete Townshend has played an E.C. Strat with a Fishman Power Bridge for a number of years now.Obviously he can choose whatever he wants to play and must be happy with his setup.I´ve got a Fishman in one of my acoustic guitars and like it.How much the Powerbridge costs I don´t know.

Here's the one I was talking about earlier. Out of my price range, but most likely more than decent
