I had a thought last night on the pickguard, what about a clear one with one of those red and white checkered table cloths under it?

What about that table cloth being the actual pickguard? Skip the clear plastic. The scratches you'll get on the actual table cloth would go really well with the rest of the body.

Just glue a table cloth to the guitar? I'm afraid the edges would peel easy.

Clear is on and the screws are aged. It really turned the neck brown for some reason.

It looks splendid! Still think this is a great idea - especially for a Tele - well done!

A friend of mine from the navy bought it last night! Now I need to get on stringing it up and getting her setup so she can get home.

Nah just screw it down. Or maybe put it on top of the pickguard?

Now having a bird crap on that body would only add to its authenticity, right?

Seriously though, very well done! I love how this turned out.

The table cloth pickguard makes sense but doesn't work for me. It's too new and shiny. Maybe cut one out of the side of a Coleman cooler? A baking pan? Beer or soda case?

Maybe the cloth needs a coffee ring and a mustard stain...

not sure about the picnic cloth, but i like the idea of a beer can cut open and flattened out.

The table cloth is perfect, and provides a nice bit of contrast.
