    Hey people,

I have an old Ibanez 440S-II, circa '91. It is a mahogany body (S-S-S) bolted to a Carvin maple neck with an ebony board.
The guitar plays really well. I mainly use it unplugged in front of the TV.
It has Carvin AP-11 pickups which don't work with this guitar. It sounds ice-picky at full tilt. When I roll the tone off, it sounds a bit honky and lackluster. It's odd, but I think the pickups just aren't a good match. I like the AP-11's in an alder body guitar that I own, but not in this guitar.

I mostly play rock and fusion. I may try the Dimarzio cruisers DP-187's. Any other suggestions for single coil sized pickups that work well with mahogany?
