My friend Bob Cooper has done a bunch of cool mods to this Agile single cut. Custom P-90, a blend pot, etc. now he wants a pick guard fitted to it. I didn't want to pull it apart and the pickup route wasn't very clean to begin with so I started with some strips of manilla folder taped together to get straight parts laid out. Transferred that to some tracing vellum to get the curves laid out and then transferred that back to another one-piece manilla-folder template. Then transferred that to a piece of 1/2" MDF.

Apologies (again) for the terrible flip phone pics.

After roughing out the MDF I used a file and small sanding block with 220 on it to get the pickup and neck fit nice and snug, then roughed out the pick guard material itself on the bandsaw before double-stick taping it to the pattern for routing.

I use a 3/16" pattern bit for the flat areas and an 1/8" roundover for the 'beveled' edges. Looks much better IMO. Bob also wanted an arm rest so I did one of those too.
Just need to drill for screws and clean everything up

What!?! no matching truss rod cover?

Just kidding, I like it, tortoise is one of the best pg colors.
Looks really good, now if the armrest could just be a bit more streamlined...

    Thought of that too! :D

I'm going off a drawing he made for both shapes. Both are just sitting on top, no screws yet, and the armrest is throwing a bit of shadow.
