Pickguard preference

Here is my 2010 Indonesian Squier Standard Precision Bass Special. Stock PG is black. Replaced PG is Aged Perloid.

I had to stop and think long enough to indicate they're both good, and since the pearl is not stock, it wins!

I dig the pearl. Makes it look more “custom” and expensive, IMHO

Both look great!
Hard call; but I'd give the edge to black.
Put the perloid on if you ever get tired of black and want a change.

Black. Compliments the brown body color better IMO.

On a side note I do believe cream pickup covers would look perfect with any of the pickguards there.

Black is classic and reserved, aged pearloid is a bit more flashy and stands out. I voted for the pearloid 'cause that's probably what I'd pick if it were mine.

I like 'em both, far as looks go.

But the white MOTO wins hands-down from the perspective that you're making the bass your own. That is far more important than what anyone else thinks about it--including the goober typing this reply.

I like them both; both seem to go with that pretty walnut to my eye. That’s a good-looking bass in either configuration.
