I like contrast, but I like black on black too. This guitar is meant to have a black guard, black headstock, black fretboard, red logo and stripe on the guard. Something is missing without the black red black pick guard.
Personally I can't stand the look of a white pickguard.
for that guitar i like the black
Black, but maple neck too.
Cream or mint instead of white is what I’d pick, but that’s because of binding.
I like the black pickguard. Black hardware would look cool too.
Be interesting to know how this goes with the age ranges of pollsters?
Time was a black guitar either didn't exist or wouldn't be available with a black guard and for many of us, those aesthetics are deep rooted.
I'd normally say white, but with that neck and headstock: black.
Black...but if you could find a dark red transparent that would be even better!
Either works for me...I mean....it's just a pickguard. Looks good either way
Only my opinion matter here! And no, I won't tell you what it is.
I think the control plate looks awkward hanging out in the blackness of space without a white pickguard to connect it visually to the neck and bridge.
White. Mind you, I've been stating my opinions on pickguard colors for over 40 years, and I've never been wrong.
If black, then pearloid.
White dresses it up. Black also looks pretty good. Anything but tort
I still like the white with a black headstock. I didn’t notice the red layer to the black guard until others mentioned it - that looks pretty cool too.
White is perfect...I love how it contrasts against the black body.I only like black pickguards on butterscotch Teles...otherwise always white or mint green.
Mint green would be my choice.
