i sold my MIA Tele a few years ago to fund my attempt to get into a band as a bass player. Things didn’t work out. I decided to not limit myself to just bass guitar. My two favorite guitars have always been the Tele and the SG. I just got a new guitar, an Epiphone SG G400 Pro. It has coil tapped pickups. I’m hoping the SG can do double duty as a humbucker equipped guitar as well as one with single coil tones. Right now my guitar amp is a Roland Micro Cube. It is a great amp for what it is/does but it is just a practice amp. I’m keeping my eyes open for an amp upgrade. On the low end of things I have a MIM Precision bass, Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar P/J bass and a Steinberger Spirit 4 string. The basses go through an Ampeg PF-500 into a Peavey 2x10 cabinet.
Sometime I want to A/B the SG coil tapped with a Strat and Tele through a good amp. Depending on how the comparison goes, I might keep an eye out for a deal on a Tele.
I’m giving the bass player thing another shot. Last evening I met up with a guitar player last night and we’ll try to find other musicians and get something going. Wish us luck.

Guitarists are a dime a dozen these days, but a good drummer or bass player is not so easy to find. God help you if you want a steel guitar player...might have to resurrect one.

With that in mind, seek the drummer next, it is the most important part of the band. Then a good vocalist...or at least a good looking one who can be energetic on stage. A band's success always comes down to chemistry and timing, so maybe this will be the one that works for you.

    What Milspec just said........
Good bass players are worth their weight in gold! We guitarists are a dime-a-dozen. Enjoy playing your guitars, but keep at the bass......PLEASE! :)

    Sounds great. Welcome.
I don’t believe in luck. Forethought, hard work and practice.

Welcome aboard! Hope it all works out, one way or another.

I can only echo what's been said already - there's no substitute for playing as much as you can and learning, learning, learning. I mean, luck is not a bad thing, but it's highly unreliable and will never replace being a good player.

Oh, yeah, and as always, many have found that luck will have a better chance of finding you by posting pictures of your guitars - here. Please!

Not the best lighting for the photos.
