This popped up on my local Facebook and fortunately I was the first one in line. Grabbed it on my way home from work. $80 with the case. Some of this model has some lifting of the finish off of the Rosewood veneer and this one has some as well but for this price I don’t really care.

80 bucks with case!!! Even at NZ $ I'd be snatching that up.

    Good deal, nice guitar, congrats.

Wow, what a steal. It looks great too, love the finish. I thought my new Monoprice Tele was a deal, but that's insane.

AFAIK Fender only made them in the US and Japan, so what is it? Is it a Harley Benton one with a Fender neck? I had a Japanese one with the solid rosewood neck back in the 80's and stupidly traded it and a Gibson LP Studio Lite in on a PRS.

They made an MIM run of 1000 back in 2003.

I see now that I didn't pay attention to your thread title. I also saw your post on Squier-Talk explaining how it was an FSR in '03. Steal of a deal.

    Rosewood? Check.
    3 Saddle bridge? Check.

I think this is just a great pickup. Nice! Vs a brand new PLayer, with the crappy bridge and Pau Ferro, this is just way better value. $80??!!! Are you kidding?

That would look so good if you just sanded down the finish, and got rid of the black paint, imo. It would become a natural blonde with rosewood, look amazing. Just imo. :)

I would totally screw that up I'm sure. I'm pretty handy but not with guitar refinishing. I'd be afraid to sand through the veneer for sure, but I do really with the sides hadn't been painted black. While playing it just looks like a black guitar and that may lead to a body swap, we'll see.

    OMG HNGD !!

Great deal for you, but ya gotta wonder about people sometime when they sell stuff. They are either very naive, or just want it GONE.

Congrats - if you get tired of it, I'll give ya $200 + shipping to Virginia! ;-)
I hope you like it, get it setup to suit you, and play the stink outta that thing. If the back of the neck is sticky when you start sweating? Hit the finish w/a scotchbrite pad to remove the gloss - it'll help.

The seller and his wife had the house packed up for a move to WA and all the guitars and amps weren't making the trip. This was one of them. Nice young couple.
