    Hi. all,

I seem to be missing something. Where can I Find (UK) flat humbucker rings? I Mean flat bottom and top not angled. Do they have a specific name? All the ones I've found seem to be thicker one side than the other.

    Thanks in advance.

If you can't find any locally and you have the slanted type in your parts bin, you can place it right-side-up on a piece of 220-grit sandpaper and work it back and forth to make the bottom flat with the top.

Humbuckers are commonly used on carved topped guitars which require a different ring for the bridge and neck and they need to be angled so the tops of the pups are level with the strings. As others have mentioned, flat rings are available or just hit the bottom of an angled ring on a belt sander.

With that said I frequently use the wood rings that are available from LMII and other sources (including a forumite). I like to match the wood with other bits of trim - somehow plastic just looks like, er, plastic.
