    That looks like a clear pickguard, or did you stain the body then remove the PG?

    She's a '73. Bought her s/h in 1979. As was popular at the time, the previous owner had removed the poly overcoat. 30 odd years later there's been a colour change. :)

    A shame this thread is dead. I'm working on a barncaster right now, and expect to do a fancier Tele afterwards, to show off some finish techniques. These are some of the coolest Teles I've seen, as I love finishes that show off the tree underneath, without covering it with a pickguard. Anyone else have anything to add here?
