Cuz it's a feeble attempt at humour!

Many of Trey’s Phish Sticks are custom made, meaning a wood builder puts it together for him specially, meaning it’s a very rare and one-of-a-kind item. So even if you wanted to buy a specific Phish Stick, it’s would not be possible. The good news is that all guitars sound the same.
(Must work into next post "it’s would not be possible".)

I love the concept of sounding like a guitar god with bottom shelf gear (actual talent is completely disregarded)

Interestingly, he actually had pretty similar signal chain to SRV (Tubescreamers into a Blackface Fender.. Trey uses/used a reissue, though) That and the Ross (fancy Dyna Comp) can all be bought at your run of the mill guitarcenter.

A decent part of his sound is the 25.5'' scale full hollowbody that Trey plays and how he coaxes sustain/feedback out of it.

Article was obviously a joke, but there will definitely be people (especially newbies) that take it seriously..

My luthier is a talented builder, specializing in Languedoc replicas. I played one at his shop thru a pseudo-Trey signal chain he kept set up for customers to demo his guitars. The Ross/stacked TS's, etc. And the pinkie volume swell from cleanish to controlled feedback was surprisingly easy to achieve, even with my chops, despite me never really trying to mimic Trey before. He made a very compelling argument that 'it's the guitar, stupid'.

Didn't Trey just do an article on how he was now using Komet amps, one Fendery and the other Marsahlly, because of their use of NOS parts and a simple signal chain through the amp?

I think that a little kid wrote the article. Sounds like an 11 year old telling a story.

Amps, or Phish Tanks, as they’re called in the Phish community, are the big black boxes that transmit the sound of the electric guitar out into the audience. They have a square or rectangular shape, much like a Fish Tank, so it’s a pun, much like Phish Stick. For doing a very big shows at places like Madison Square Garden, Trey needs very big Phish Tanks to make this happen.

Those "articles"have been commented upon years ago or something and it was found they were spam for some music retailer.

Now maybe you can tell us what foreign university you would recommend for Chinese students.

Aside from the obvious and intentional silliness of the article, could someone please post a clip where Trey has good tone?

Generally, I think silliness is a good thing, but in all seriousness, I don't understand the appeal of Phish.

At least to my ears, tuning should not be optional.

It's odd. On paper (hypothetically or in theory) I should love Phish, but I don't. They play within walking distance of my house and I'm like meh.

I hate Trey's tone. There, I said it

The next time they're jamming, you should walk over and give Trey some tips to improve his tone.
