Bummer but people steal everywhere. I consider the Philly area home too even though I haven't lived there since 1984. I lived in Berwyn, then later lived around Collegeville. We used to go to 8th Street music when it was on Chestnut I think about 1968. I've seen Todd Rundgren there a few times. Many Spectrum shows and the Main Point in Brynmawr. That was just the best place ever to get to see so many legendary musicians.
Yeah I remember 8th Street Music when it was there. I bought an acoustic there in the late 70s. I still have it.

First place I lived was Spruce St in Philly after they brought me home from Jefferson Memorial.

Possibly the earliest pic of me is sitting on a crane operators knee where we walked past going to Rittenhouse Square.
Crane operator was demolishing a building and told me which lever to pull, resulting in the wrecking ball swinging into the building and knocking down some bricks!

Wonder why I did not end up a drummer?

what about a crane operator?

CC thefts is everywhere. Legally, you can't booby trap them. But if you think raccoons keep messing around trying to sleep under your car, and happen to have a bear trap under there, it's not your fault that a thief got maimed. Don't take legal advice from the internet, but a social media post about the raccoon problem, a no trespassing sign, and a legal system tired of CC thieves could be enough.

Related, I agreed (at work) to let the prosecutor waive trespassing charges on 2 dudes if they could cooperate on a multiple county investigation on a CC theft ring.
My neighbor was sick for 9 days, and someone cut the converter off his work van(parked in the same alleymy wifes van gets parkedin). He spray painted the front undercarriage of his personal truck black to slow them down if he sees 'em on camera. Buying time to grab a ball bat, I suppose.

Is this a problem in other countries?
I know I heard stories from South Africa from the 90s about razor wire or crazier tactics to deter it, but I don't hear about it elsewhere in recent times.

I know here it goes hand in hand with drugs, poverty, and not much being done about mental health problems. I'm not trying to get too pessimistic here, but:

I was promised flying cars by now.

Just sayin.

When MODs have to remove posts because knuckleheads can not follow our rules, it is time to close threads.
