I've been re learning Solsbury hill on acoustic after not playing it for 5 years.
My fingers are fighting the picking pattern. It's tough starting from near scratch again but worth the effort.
I saw that tour in Paris at the time, one of the best concerts I ever attended. I loved everything about it: the songs, the band (Tony Levin, Manu Katché, Paula Cole...), the crystal clear sound, the production ...
... and I was just about to post that clip myself. Nice to see the footage from different periods of his career. That man has brought joy to the world for ages.
And has managed to have a hit song in 7/4, which is no little feat
He recently put the touring band from So back together and they did a nice hybrid set. It even included sussing out a new tune in front of a live audience. Always ALWAYS an innovator. Tops in my book.
I saw that tour, too. In fact I go see him everytime he plays France. That was an equally great show and it was nice to be in a room with 19000 Parisians of whom just about everybody knew every band member, of course above all Manu Katché who is a hometown boy.
Katché is unmatched. So so very gifted.
