I really like his music. More so the stuff he did after he left Genesis.
I saw Peter Gabriel play in NYC. he played an outdoor gig in the Wollman skating rink in Central Park.
People were climbing trees to see him perform...
Started the show off with the song Biko...
Through the crowd
And onto the stage
Bald head and dressed in an all black jump suit
It was the most amazing performance I have ever seen in my life.
I bought a ticket off someone at work and did not no one song
I think it was his Intruder album, 1979?
Kissing baboons in the jungle
I saw Peter Gabriel on the Amnesty International tour back in the late 80's. I bought the ticket to see Springsteen; Gabriel was an afterthought but his live show blew me away. Very theatrical, which is not usually my thing, but it was fantastic.
I had a similar experience at a David Byrne show. Both were wonderful surprises and they both made a fan of me based on those live performances.
Big fan here, he's a class act.
And always very theatrical, going back to the early days of Genesis
