Whenever I mention Peter Bruntnell as a great songwriter I get the same look. "Who.. say again?"

    PETER BRUNTNELL!

Check out his stuff. Understated sublimely crafted pop/rock/anglo-americana/jangle/acoustic.... think Jayhawks, Wilco.. sweet songs, wonderfully sly lyrics, tasteful blended guitar work. Simple superb artistry.

He has a new album Kinds of Madrid. Another goody.

Going to see him next week at the Water Rats in Kings Cross. Can't wait.

    Wee sample. A WONDERFUL track.

Listen to? Perhaps “heard of” is a better question, not that creative folk toiling in obscurity is anything new..

    Indeed!

The man is an inverse marketer.

    But he is brilliant.

I was really into him back during the Normal for Bridgewater thru Ghost in a Spitfire albums, then kinda lost track of him. This sounds great though, have to check what he’s been up to the last 10-15 years...
