Just looking through ebay and saw 2 esquires owned by Pete Anderson.

A blonde and the more familiar black custom with binding.

Maybe someone a little more computer savy could post some links I thought it was interesting.

Anybody know if 25K is ballpark price for these guitars? Seems pretty high for the refin/ modded '59.

I saw Pete play a couple of weeks ago. Great show, great guitar pickin'. He's also very funny. He did a fairly long rant about how expensive 3(!!) ex-wives are.
Perhaps that has something to do with the auction.

Ain't a guitar anywhere worth that to me! No offense Pete, Love ya man! What would you do with it? I'd be afraid to take it out of the case!

    I'm with ya.
It irks me that anyone would pay $2500.00 for a Tele let alone $25k.
I've owned 31 Telecasters to date and when they left my possession they were as good as any I've ever played.
Granted one or two may have had a neck swap but, hell they're interchangeable.
    Love Pete's playin' too.
    He needs a Tele model.
Heck even those who never or rarely played them have a sig model.
    Where's the Don Rich Tele?
    Heck Muddy got one???

Says the '59 Esquire has the original frets. Is that possible? I would think a 50 year old guitar owned by a professional musician would've been refretted a couple of times, no? I don't really know much about the subject but seems odd to me.

25K for a used, modified, custom shop guitar is outrageous.

Seems to me I saw a thread here (maybe the SGF) a few months ago about some Pete Anderson guitars on Ebay.Maybe these, maybe others. At the risk of sounding like Dudley Downer, even if Pete did fall on such hard times as to contemplate a distress sale, one might think that a player of his stature would be on a first-name basis with everyone who's anyone in the vintage git-biz and would be more likely to move gear discreetly through one of those folks, rather than having his name all over Ebay.JMO-YMMV.

Kinda sad that Pete and Dwight parted ways, I was a huge fan of what they were doing...then again, Dwight strikes me as someone who is VERY difficult to get along with.
