Thank you! At the stage now that I'm least comfortable with, which is the pre-finishing and finishing stage. The woodworking process always seems to go fairly well. Getting a "perfect" surface to finish is always stressful.

Did some grain filling this morning. Left and center are the StewMac water based ash filler. Right is oil based Reranch stuff. Think I prefer the water based.

Staged a favorite book of mine in the photo for some artsy flair haha

Got the 3 bodies sanded today. Just need to blow them off and wipe down with some naptha. Then they will be ready to finish!

Really digging this Grizzly vise. Makes life very easy.

Doing sealer coats. Some observations...the one guitar with the oil based grain filler did a much better job of accepting the sealer. The two guitars that I filled with the StewMac water based grain filler really seemed to soak up the sealer coats.

So the water based filler is a little easier to work with, but the oil based takes spray much better. Will probably end up buying more of the Reranch oil stuff.

Shooting Behlen vinly sealer through my Fuji Spray HVLP. Cutting the Behlen by 25% and adding 5% retarder...because TX. Sprayed great, just dealt with the soaking issue.

Here they are hanging in their current habitat...a spare closet I commandeered for drying space. Ignore the mess...we have 2 small kids that constantly grow out of things and this seems to be where the old stuff resides until it gets donated.

I borrowed the PVC paint stick idea from somewhere on this forum, I believe. Works well and is super cheap. Also made a older out of a larger piece of PVC, a T section, a foot mount used for gas lines that fit the PVC, and a 2' X 2' piece of MDF. Works well and didn't break the bank.

Been slacking on updates here. The Seafoam one is the same body that was previously shown in this thread. Using FB to upload photos and they don't seem to last long for some reason. Let me know if you have questions about any part of the build process and I'll look to see if I have any photos. Hope you enjoy

That neck inlay is awesome! Wow. And so appropriate for the material you used for the fingerboard.

I assume it’s pale moon ebony. Ive actually been looking for a pale moon ebony fingerboard after playing one of the limited edition Stratocasters at Guitar Center for this holiday season.

All of the previous pictures are gone...guess that's what I get for linking to Facebook. Giving Google Photos a try. Anyways, here is a finished one.

Built this one in a batch with 2 others that are in the assembly and setup stage. Should be finished with those in a week or so.

    Specs:
    Ash body
    Top bound white
    Contour heel
    Tummy cut
    Maple neck
    Macassar ebony fretboard
Jumbo SS frets, blind fret slots
    Sperzel Trim Lock tuners
    TUSQ nut
    Gotoh bridge
    SD Seth Lovers
    3 way, 1 vol, 1 tone
    Nitro satin finish
Used Mixol to tint the color coat

Really happy with how it turned out. Really light compared to my first build, and is really loud unplugged because of it. My friend requested the Seth Lovers, but I'd love to hear this with a hotter set in it.

    Hope you enjoy!

Waiting on the tuners to arrive for this one. Just needs to have the nut fitted and tuners installed. Then setup time.

Thanks! These were built in a batch, so it worked out nicely that I was able to assemble them all in the same week.

OK, coming back down to reality...here is what they look like before a pretty finish gets sprayed on!! Believe most here appreciate the progress just as much as the final product :)
