Lived in PA in the '90s. I still get back there every couple of years to visit in-laws.

Born and raised in Altoona. Left for warmer climate of Florida but I do miss the Autumn leaves in the mountains.

I was born in Altoona, moved away at 4, returned at 16, moved away again for good at 17. Graduated from AAHS in 1969. Aunts, uncles and cousins all over the area still.

You are my age. I skipped 3rd grade in Virginia. I was in a band called Speed and we played at the Pavilion at Lakemont Park all the time.

I remember the name Speed but I am trying to remember the band. (With old age comes fading memories) In 1969 the local band Genesis (not the famous one but Rick Cornet played bass and sang lead and Barry Yeager played hammond B3) decided to add a horn section so I was brought in to play sax. After they broke up I played lead guitar in several bands before I went on the road and ended up in Florida. I bet we ran into one another from time to time. We used to rehearse in my garage on Howard ave. Got the police called on us all the time.

We had Fred Fronauer on bass, Steve Haun on drums, Mike McGough on rhythm and a guy who had moved away but came back for gigs -John Rouser, on vocals. I played a Gretsch Rally through a Solid State Fender Super reverb and we had a cheesy Kustom PA - it was Rouser's, that's why we needed him in the band.
