    Hi

I mainly play with my guitar tuned half a step down. But there are a few times I play in standard tuning.

I know that Digitech do a Whammy pedal with the function to raise the tuning in half steps but that's a bIt OTT for what I need and their stand alone Drop Tune pedal only goes down I don't think it goes up.

I don't like switching tuning tension on my guitar while playing as it takes a while to adjust to the different feels.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

I don’t know of a single pedal, but the boss gt-1 has a pitch shifter function. It allows to tune up, down, half, full steps. I haven’t tried its limits but it works well for half steps. For certain one has to make sure the volume in the amp is loud enough or you’ll hear the strings and it will sound dissonant.

Whammy goes up or down. Get one...they’re a blast! There may be a better option to get exactly half step increments. Rubber band helps turn the knob with my foot.

    Thanks guys

That Whammy doesn't do half steps only the Whammy with DT does that and it's so huge.

Capo is out of the question for me as that also changes the feel.

I didn't know the pitchfork went up in half steps, if so we have a winner.

Will look into the Boss but my gut says that won't track polyphonic.

No idea what pitch keys are, will look into those too.

    Cheers

    Why not get another guitar?

I picked up an Epiphone Special II for $60 a few years ago and use it as my Eb tuning guitar. I don't play it often enough to justify any upgrades to it, but I do have a lot of fun for the $60 price tag when I do!

I want open nut sound so no capo and barres for those reasons

I've enough guitars but my Tele never really leaves my hands so I'd like to do it this way if possible.

But an Epiphone Sheraton would be nice!

I think @blowtorch is on to something... don’t we all want a doubleneck guitar, deep down?? I see a custom 6 + 6 string... and baffled questions from the audience who don’t understand different tunings...

Sorry, I misunderstood what you're trying to do.

You just want to leave your tuning as is and electronically raise your pitch a step with the click of a button, correct?

    Yeah just for 2 songs....

So the pitchfork was perfect and as the plus was only £50 more I thought why not go for crazy :)

Works great, and the footswitch can either be momentary or latching. Great pitch pedal and sounds natural. The only ding is that it can't do harmonic intervals - major/minor 3rds based on the key, but for that the Boss PS6 works great. I bought one for songs we were doing live and while pitch shifting up/down a step, 1/2 step works, I really needed to double a 3rd part and the Pitchfork isn't that.

Inexpensive used - why not buy and try?

    I brought the Pitchfork Plus

I think it might be able to do things with Harmony that the Normal Pitchfork can't as its got two separate pitch channels and there are blend and cross-fade functions - I'm just guessing tho....

I've looked at the online manual pdf briefly and it's got a bonkers amount of parameters that can be set and then setup as presets

I'm looking forward to messing around

    Looks hours of fun
